Villa Ferrata
A 1790 lakehouse with its own jetty and a very slow morning.
Tour coming soon
We film each house room by room. Villa Ferrata is in the schedule — until then, the photographs are all honest.
Your own jetty
And a 1962 Riva-style launch, with a driver, included two mornings a week.
The garden is the point
Two hectares of terraced cypress and camellia, laid out in 1834 and never rebuilt.
Frescoed dining room
Original, restored in 2018, and still the room everyone ends up in.
Villa Ferrata was built in 1790 for a Milanese silk family and has been in the same hands ever since — Alessandro is the seventh generation. It sits just north of Lenno with two hectares of terraced garden behind it and its own jetty in front.
The house has been kept rather than renovated. The dining room frescoes are original and were restored properly in 2018. The kitchen is new and hidden. The bedrooms are large, cool and slightly formal, in the way that old Italian lake houses are.
The boat is included two mornings a week with Marco driving. Villa del Balbianello is four minutes away by water and about forty by road, which tells you how to get around here.

“The boat is included and so is my cousin Marco, who drives it. Ask him to take you to Comacina for lunch.”
